STEEL BUILDING DESIGN.

Steel building design examples

Use these building ideas to start a conversation about space, access and layout. Our metal building designer lets you explore the details in 3D.

Garages and workshops

Consider the vehicles or equipment you want to store, overhead door clearance, a separate entry door and room to work around the edges. Leave space for shelving and future equipment when choosing the footprint.

Agricultural buildings

Think about machinery access, storage heights and the route through the building. Door placement, covered areas and the intended use all help shape the initial layout.

Commercial spaces

Start with how the space will function: storage, working areas, deliveries and customer access. Use different views to compare openings and the relationship between the main building and covered extensions.

Storage and outbuildings

Plan access to the items you use most often and consider whether one larger door or several openings suits the layout. Experiment with colours and roof profiles to explore the exterior appearance.

Make the starting point your own

Open the designer and use Choose a Design to browse preset layouts and anonymous submitted concepts. Selecting a design is a starting point, not a commitment to those dimensions or specifications. Change the size, roof, finishes and openings to suit your idea.

The illustrations on this page are concept sketches, not completed projects or engineered plans. A particular layout does not establish that a building is suitable for your site or use. Send your concept to the team for review and a discussion of drawings and pricing.
